Louis Oliver: Ridin’ Them Buffalos!

Louis Oliver: Ridin’ Them Buffalos!

Miami Dolphins Tales From The Deep

Louis Oliver enjoyed an All-American career as a safety at the University of Florida, while also earning two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll honors. The Dolphins selected Oliver in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft, reuniting him in the defensive backfield with his former Gator teammate, Jarvis Williams. Oliver went on to play seven of his eight professional seasons in Miami, registering 27 interceptions including two he returned for touchdowns. In the Fish Tank, Louis reveals a premonition he had prior to his three-interception performance in Buffalo in 1992, details just how hands-on Don Shula was as a head coach, remembers the great lengths Mark Higgs went to in order to make the Dolphins roster, and recalls a special gift former Fins linebacker Bryan Cox gave to a “lucky” Buffalo Bills fan.
