Troy Drayton: I’m Very Comfortable in the Nude

Miami Dolphins Tales From The Deep
Troy Drayton enjoyed a standout career at Penn State University from 1989-1992, teaming with our very own OJ McDuffie. A second round selection of the Los Angeles Rams in the 1993 NFL draft, Drayton played three seasons and three games for the Rams before Jimmy Johnson traded for the tight end in 1996. Troy would go on to play in Miami through the 1999 season and upon his retirement following a one-year stint in Kansas City, returned to South Florida where he became a staple in the community, and currently serves as the Dolphins Youth Programs Manager. Diving in The Tank, Troy recants his humble beginnings at Steelton (PA) High School as well as the factors that drove him to succeed at Penn State, on the field and especially in the classroom. Troy also discusses how Tim Bowens and Dan Marino made him realize the Dolphins were the city for him, his insane prowess in the weight room, the one time he was pushed to the point of going after a coach on the sidelines, his feelings about chicken salad, and his very unique approach to being interviewed in the locker room.
