Miami Dolphins Tales From The Deep
Kendall Newson’s story is a different one than that of previous guests in The Tank. Newson was a seventh round draft choice of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2002 and chased opportunities with the Jaguars, Titans and Rhein Fire before landing with the Dolphins in 2003. Newson worked his way from practice squad player to the 53-man roster before injuries and coaching changes ended his NFL career in 2005. In The Tank, Kendall sheds light on the life of the journeyman, fighting for a job each and every play. He shares his feelings on how Nick Saban handled his release and gives an honest and revealing look into the challenges some players face when making the transition from professional athlete to unemployed. Kendall also discusses his current career as a professional angler, his non-profit organization: Teach a Child to Fish, and how he is bringing the fishing experience to inner-city youth through his mobile fishing pond.
