Victory Monday! Is Jeff Hafley's Plan Coming Together? | Fish Tank x DolphinsTalk Crossover
VICTORY MONDAY! The Miami Dolphins are finally in the win column, and there's no better way to celebrate than beating the New York Jets!
After five consecutive losses to open the season, the Dolphins delivered a 28-25 victory over their AFC East rivals, giving Jeff Hafley his first win as Miami's head coach. And while nobody is planning a playoff parade, O.J. McDuffie, Seth Levit and DolphinsTalk's Mike Oliva believe there are legitimate reasons to be encouraged by what they saw.
Malik Willis looked like a different quarterback. After weeks of criticism, Willis delivered his most complete performance of the season, making quicker decisions, taking what the defense gave him and using his legs to create opportunities. Juice explains why his "needy, not greedy" philosophy may be exactly what Willis and Bobby Slowik's offense need moving forward.
Meanwhile, Ollie Gordon II continues to emerge as a potential cornerstone of Miami's rebuild. With two 100-yard performances in his last three games, Gordon is establishing himself as a physical, downhill runner who could eventually form a formidable one-two punch with De'Von Achane.
The guys also discuss Caleb Douglas and Greg Dulcich becoming reliable targets for Willis, an offensive line beginning to establish its identity, an impressive defensive goal-line stand, and the significant improvement in Miami's special teams play.
And with some Dolphins fans already worrying that victories could hurt Miami's draft position, the crew pushes back on the notion that this team is intentionally tanking. As Seth explains, "It was never a tank. It was always a purge."
The Dolphins are 1-5, but for the first time this season, they're coming off a win. Is this the beginning of something positive, or simply one enjoyable Victory Monday?
Dive in with O.J. McDuffie, Seth Levit and Mike Oliva!
