The Dolphins Are 1-6 AGAIN… So Why Does This Feel Different? | Fish Tank LIVE

The Miami Dolphins are 1-6 through seven games—exactly where they were a year ago. So why does this season feel so different?

O.J. McDuffie and Seth Levit are joined by Mike Oliva and special guest Eric Smith (@OLCoachSmith63) for a spirited edition of Fish Tank LIVE that examines whether Jeff Hafley and Jon-Eric Sullivan are actually building something special in Miami, despite the team's disappointing record.

The conversation begins in the trenches, where Coach Smith delivers an eye-opening breakdown of rookie offensive lineman Cadyn Proctor. Just how important is Proctor to the Dolphins' offense? Did his absence against the New England Patriots expose bigger problems along Miami's offensive line? And should the Dolphins consider moving their talented first-round pick to right tackle next season, or leave him at left guard, where he's already showing All-Pro potential?

The guys also look ahead to Miami's matchup with Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions. Can the Dolphins match Detroit's physicality for four quarters, or will the mistakes that cost them against New England continue to haunt this young team?

Then comes the big debate: The Dolphins were 1-6 last season, too. But are they actually in a better position today? Juice and Mike explain why accountability, leadership, an impressive rookie class, and a changing locker-room culture have them feeling far more optimistic about Miami's future.

And what about the quarterback position? With speculation swirling about Lamar Jackson's future in Baltimore, the crew debates whether the Dolphins should even consider pursuing the two-time NFL MVP—or stay committed to developing Malik Willis and building through the draft.

Plus, in "I Tried to Tell Y'all," Juice delivers a message about voting, character, and coming together, while Mike challenges Dolphins fans to remember their preseason expectations before unleashing an epic rant defending the legendary 1972 Miami Dolphins against criticism from NFL Network's Kyle Brandt!

The record hasn't changed. But has everything else?

JOIN THE CONVERSATION: Are you more optimistic about the Dolphins at 1-6 this season than you were a year ago? And would you trade for Lamar Jackson? Tell us in the comments!

0:00 [SPEAKER_00]: you're now diving into the fish team. [SPEAKER_04]: Welcome back to Fish Tank Live, presented by the Van Horan Law Group, Seth Levitt here live. [SPEAKER_04]: On the Dolphins Talk YouTube channel, and of course, I am joined by the only podcaster to lead the league in receptions and bowl of perfect game.

0:41 [SPEAKER_04]: Look it up, he is O.J. [SPEAKER_04]: McDuffie Juice. [SPEAKER_04]: How are we doing tonight, man? [SPEAKER_01]: Yo, you haven't seen the video set. [SPEAKER_01]: What's the last time you look at that video? [SPEAKER_01]: I need to pull it up. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I was bragging on you today to the NFL Alumni Association. [SPEAKER_04]: Right. [SPEAKER_04]: You guys are trying to think about it. [SPEAKER_01]: The video is like, that's what makes it official. [SPEAKER_01]: Fish. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, I could talk about a perfect game, big set. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: We got video proof. [SPEAKER_04]: That point, it's the real deal, isn't it? [SPEAKER_04]: Right, absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll speak into the real deal in addition to O.J. [SPEAKER_04]: McDuffee. [SPEAKER_04]: We are missing a few folks, but we only talk about the guys around the field. [SPEAKER_04]: We're not worried about guys who are in training room right now. [SPEAKER_04]: That's it. [SPEAKER_04]: Next, man, we're not next, man. [SPEAKER_04]: These are starters right here.

1:23 [SPEAKER_04]: Of course, the great Michael Leaver, the heart and soul of Dolphins talk. [SPEAKER_04]: and a special guest, an unfamiliar face to fish tank live, but certainly a familiar film, breaker, downer, Twitter, star, and dolphins nation, Eric Smith, otherwise known as ATOL Coach Smith 63. [SPEAKER_04]: He's also the co-host of the focused on fans podcast on YouTube and probably some other places on the interwebs. [SPEAKER_04]: Coach Eric, man, welcome to Fish Tank Live. [SPEAKER_01]: doing this stuff I'm still very much a fan so when you reach out and ask me to come on here this is like you know bucket list deal for me so I'm excited to be here to talk to you guys awesome very cool very very very cool you know big set before we get too deep in everything man yeah yeah I love hanging out with big linemen man you know to me sure those are the guys that protect me when I talk guys the hide behind when you run behind [SPEAKER_01]: You know, and you know, make sure that, you know, they're taking care of so that they make sure that I'm taking care of bro and I love seeing the big fellas on on the show I love seeing the big fellas and you know on the team and the huddle now sometimes it was hard to you know hear the plays on the road or see what you know was being said because you got to read, read, read lip sometimes yeah man do I love my big fellas man.

2:50 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, do you co-sign this coach Smith or are you with O. J. McDeffy on this? [SPEAKER_04]: It's all about the lineman. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah, I mean, you don't want anywhere. [SPEAKER_03]: If you don't have a good, great group up front. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, we know that. [SPEAKER_02]: We've seen that. [SPEAKER_01]: We've seen that in my image a lot of the chances, baby. [SPEAKER_04]: I was ready for Mike to jump in on that one. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm pretty sure. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not surprised he was quick and the trigger there. [SPEAKER_04]: So I want to, I invited you to jump on with us because it's something I want to talk about at the top of the show. [SPEAKER_04]: But before I do that, talk to us a little bit. [SPEAKER_04]: Like I know you through Twitter, the great film breakdowns. [SPEAKER_04]: I am very upfront and transparent [SPEAKER_04]: who publicly talk about offensive line play. [SPEAKER_04]: don't know what the hell they're talking about. [SPEAKER_04]: They don't, they're lying.

3:31 [SPEAKER_04]: And so, you know, I see guys and hey, he's got good feet or he gets beat a lottery, doesn't. [SPEAKER_04]: Typically, I know what I'm saying from that standpoint, but that's about it. [SPEAKER_04]: And so I love the way you break things down. [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's interesting sometimes with people challenge you, and then you, you flex on them a little bit in a very polite way, but talk to us about your background. [SPEAKER_04]: Like, why are you coach Smith? [SPEAKER_04]: Where do you coach? [SPEAKER_04]: What's your background in offensive line play? [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I mean, I grew up. [SPEAKER_03]: I was an offensive lineman, my entire life. [SPEAKER_03]: Obviously not a small guy here. [SPEAKER_03]: And then I ended up getting into coaching. [SPEAKER_03]: So my nephew started playing football. [SPEAKER_03]: My dad asked me to help coach had no idea that I wanted to do it out of high school. [SPEAKER_03]: So I started helping out with the youth football levels.

4:14 [SPEAKER_03]: And then moved up through my son started playing, moved up through with him. [SPEAKER_03]: And then ended up at the high school level. [SPEAKER_03]: I coach, well, I didn't coach this past year because of my work schedule, [SPEAKER_03]: with our local high school, Krala high school. [SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, I don't call this weird. [SPEAKER_04]: Sorry to cut you off here, but weird is local. [SPEAKER_04]: We're, uh, I know you're off Pennsylvania. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, you don't ask that question, man. [SPEAKER_01]: You know we talk about PA right now, baby. [SPEAKER_01]: The top PA is right. [SPEAKER_04]: Of course, just listen, I mean, there's towns. [SPEAKER_04]: So I went to school University of Florida in Gainesville, and then you drive to Georgia and there's a Gainesville Georgia and then there's a Gainesville. [SPEAKER_04]: So I just wanted to clarify. [SPEAKER_03]: Krala, maybe Krala out in the house. [SPEAKER_03]: All right. [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of Syracuse legends came through Carlisle lot.

4:57 [SPEAKER_03]: They did, they did Billy Owens, four times a boy, four times state champion. [SPEAKER_03]: Look at you guys, look at you guys. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, cool. [SPEAKER_04]: So he says the man knows what he's talking about, which is perfect, because I want to talk about a guy who [SPEAKER_04]: what I think is the biggest news of the day here for the dolphins is the injury report comes out and Caden Proctor still in concussion protocol, but he had a full practice today. [SPEAKER_04]: So I think you know that whole the protocol piece which is a very necessary thing and a positive thing. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know how it all works, but the fact that he was allowed to practice him was a full not limited. [SPEAKER_04]: I think is a big deal for the Miami dolphins and [SPEAKER_04]: If we thought he was a good player, I felt that his absence was glaring in this game against New England Patriots.

5:41 [SPEAKER_04]: So, you know, we'll start with you, talk to us how good has Caden Proctor been as a rookie as a Dolphins first in our draft choice, and how much did we realize if we didn't know beforehand, if we don't know now we know based on him not being there against the Patriots, how important is he to this Dolphins offense? [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, so as you know, like I grade every play that these, you know, offensive lime and play and that's as an outside or looking in. [SPEAKER_03]: So it's not going to be not going to be perfect. [SPEAKER_03]: But I think that, you know, Kate and Proctor is. [SPEAKER_03]: far from a perfect player right now. [SPEAKER_03]: There are still some highs and some lows, but if you are somebody that really likes to grade flashes, then, you know, Caitlyn Proctor is going to pop off the tape for you, because he's going to have some reps that you're just not going to find a lot of guys across the league that are doing.

6:30 [SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, like you said, that really showed up this week. [SPEAKER_03]: The case that I'll make is that against the New York Jets when we got down there and that Alley Gordon touchdown run. [SPEAKER_03]: They ran the the same power play that they've been installing since Preseason's DJ Herman kicking out the and man on the land scrimmage Caden Proctor pulling around from left guard and leading through they ran that three times in a row before Alley Gordon got into the end zone and they did it again on the final drive ran it three times in a row where you're bringing Caden Proctor around [SPEAKER_03]: putting all of your in behind him. [SPEAKER_03]: So they ran that a total of six times against the jets Against the Patriots when you get into that second half and you have a double-digit lead, right?

7:14 [SPEAKER_03]: It'd be a great place to be able to do that again and to burn the clock. [SPEAKER_03]: They ran that a total of one time the entire game just because you're missing. [SPEAKER_03]: So like it was definitely felt [SPEAKER_04]: Well, juice, at least they were smart enough to know that we can't just do what we do, regardless of personnel, right? [SPEAKER_04]: Don't you think I hear people say, well, this is what we do, but man, you got to coach to your personnel. [SPEAKER_04]: Don't you? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you absolutely do, and you absolutely do. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's just so funny that and coach coach Smith here, you know, we see a lot of times with this team that they run to the right a lot, but I think they run to the right a lot of times because they might be pulling Kate and proctor and making them in the mix.

7:55 [SPEAKER_01]: So he's almost coming on the right side with some of the schemes that we got it might look like we're running away from him, you know, in Patrick Paul, but in reality, I think that we're running to the right, but we're bringing him in there to add on to that side of football. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and we're going to get in the way more of a technical conversation than we probably should on this field, but when you look at the athlete that Kate and Proctor is as an offensive lineman and the stuff that you can do, even when you're running outside zone, when you're running to the right side. [SPEAKER_03]: You need guys that are able to overtake, you know, a one-technique or a zero-tech, technique, no-stackle, and be able to cut them off. [SPEAKER_03]: And Kingdom Proctor for his biggest he is, is just that grain of an athlete, he's able to gain that leverage, settle down, and create that cutback lane, that you might not be able to get with other guards that you put in there.

8:47 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Coach Smith always say this and Mike and Seth know this man. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that, you know, there should be 11 wide receivers on the field at all times. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure you feel the same way about somebody's athletic offensive lineman, correct? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you almost had a last year with Mike McDaniel, right? [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I almost had a lot of other receivers. [SPEAKER_03]: If you get 11 offensive lineman on the field, it's going to be top to stop the run. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's a good point. [SPEAKER_04]: That's a good point. [SPEAKER_04]: Proctor might be lining up a tail back at that point, right? [SPEAKER_04]: We've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, we've seen a get-to-right, [SPEAKER_02]: I think he bears them Brooks.

9:37 [SPEAKER_02]: I think he's very an agent. [SPEAKER_02]: I think Pound for Pound. [SPEAKER_02]: He's most athletic, best pure, athlete, best football player on the team right now. [SPEAKER_02]: And that's saying something because he's only been the league for what eight weeks. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, thanks. [SPEAKER_01]: We were talking Pound for Pound now. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got more Pound now. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got to make the Pound. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got to carry the one when you're talking about Pound. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got a lot of Pound. [SPEAKER_02]: This is interesting. [SPEAKER_02]: I think he's that good though. [SPEAKER_02]: This is my point. [SPEAKER_02]: I think he's that. [SPEAKER_02]: I think he's that talented. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, [SPEAKER_04]: I'll tell you what else I thought was missing was just from a physicality standpoint, right? [SPEAKER_04]: I felt like I didn't expect the dolphins to get bullied, and then I, you know, and that's something that Vrable has done regardless of where he's been coaching.

10:19 [SPEAKER_04]: He's just come down here and bully the dolphins. [SPEAKER_04]: And I felt that the mentality of this team the way they're coached, that wasn't going to be an issue, but I also expected Proctor to play at that point, [SPEAKER_04]: You know, it looked like Jonah reverted back to some of the things that we saw on 2025 as opposed to some of the the growth that we were seeing this year. [SPEAKER_04]: And juice and I were talking about this. [SPEAKER_04]: Like Aaron Brewers, phenomenal player, Patrick Paul, I think it's a really good player. [SPEAKER_04]: But when those three guys, with Proctor in the middle, when those three guys are together, they have this opportunity to be dominant on every play. [SPEAKER_04]: And when you pull out the center, not the center at all, you know, but the center of those three, all of the sudden, we started to see [SPEAKER_04]: Some guys get exposed a little bit.

11:06 [SPEAKER_04]: I just thought that was really interesting that they collectively, you know, the some of the parts are really impressive there. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's that's I guess, you know, Eric talk to talk to us about the cohesiveness that needs to happen when it comes off into line and offensive line play, you know, everybody talks about, you know, great offensive lines or whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: I think good office alignment at know how to work the work well together. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think that's more important than anything, you know, everything everybody talks about, you know, you know, it was good as your weakest part, but I think a good office of line is one that they work well together and he know each other's [SPEAKER_01]: moves and they can look and and read what the defense is doing.

11:48 [SPEAKER_01]: They can do silent communication Without having to say a word man talk about just in general how important that communication is and how that cohesiveness is important for these guys In order to go out there and work well in every situation because there's you guys see a lot You guys people don't understand they offer salami and probably some of the smartest guys on the football team because the first I don't know how many pages of of like [SPEAKER_01]: you know a game prep that we have or game plan and that we have it's most of that is offensive line what they have to do for every single play versus all these different sets and how they're out of line up against you. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah and I don't know how much it was variable just having a very good game plan or whether Caden Proctor impact in this part of it [SPEAKER_03]: three or four runs in the gaming as the Patriots where the Dolphins didn't even block the middle line back or he's just getting a free run through and it comes down to that communication like you're talking about using it's you know there's a lot of levels to that communication in pretty much every office of scheme that you have even in power schemes or are still combination blocks that you're working where you and the guy besides you need to have [SPEAKER_03]: a shared understanding of the leverage that you're playing with, who's leaving when you're leaving and you know, good timing with that.

13:12 [SPEAKER_03]: But you also need to just understand, you know, who you're blocking. [SPEAKER_03]: And when you watch across the league and the dolphins ran to us a lot under Michael Daniel, [SPEAKER_03]: When a guy goes in motion and you see those linebackers shift over, there has to be either instant verbal communication or just that understanding that juices talking about there that you know how that picture is changing and how those combination blocks are changing. [SPEAKER_03]: All it takes is for one guy to not be on the same page and then you have a lineback to running free. [SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, communication is the biggest part of that and it was nice to see that for those first [SPEAKER_03]: a few weeks of the season and you know Derek Kingston has played well but there was definitely some sort of communication issue missing against the Patriots.

13:59 [SPEAKER_01]: Eric, I got to ask you this man. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I got, I've got to ask you this. [SPEAKER_01]: Like you talk about immediate pressure from [SPEAKER_01]: That's the first call, right? [SPEAKER_01]: The first call is, it's got to be the micro, the middle linebacker and working away from him, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Whoever the mic might be and so on and so forth, right? [SPEAKER_03]: It is, but then the picture changes, right? [SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk about, you know, red guard right tackle. [SPEAKER_03]: Let's say they're going to the Samline Backer Center left guard, going to the Mike Linebacker, and then suddenly they shift over. [SPEAKER_03]: Let's say we run motion to the weak side, and both of those combinations, think the other one is accountable for that linebacker, right, and then neither of them end up going there.

14:44 [SPEAKER_03]: And that's, again, that kind of, [SPEAKER_03]: unsung or unspoken communication that's that's meeting room stuff that's going over in the film room that you know when you have these motions you have these shifts at the second level or even at the first level right we see a defensive line and stemming from one gap to another that can change you know where those combinations are occurring and you don't always have time to communicate that before the snap right because if [SPEAKER_03]: If the defense of tackle shifts from a 2i out to a 3, then it could suddenly cheat. [SPEAKER_03]: If the guard at one point could be thinking he's comboing with the center, then he shifts outside.

15:25 [SPEAKER_03]: And the guard thinks he has the tackle, but the tackle doesn't see it. [SPEAKER_03]: And then, you know, guard's playing with leverage. [SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't work out. [SPEAKER_03]: And we end up with a 3 technique getting up the field because the guard didn't know that he had to take that over. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I told y'all, I told y'all smart these guys had to be didn't that I told y'all man and they got to do it like, you know, I got like five steps to get to my decision on whether I'm going to change my route or whatever these guys are getting it in real time right in their face big 300 pounders or 250 pound lineback are trying to come their way. [SPEAKER_01]: you know to me and they got to stop that momentum and you know and and protect all of us you know when when you talk about office alignment you know they're protecting all of us quarterback first obviously running back and then with their protection gives us little guys a chance to go out there and be successful man so it's like I mean that's why I love talking to big oakley's man sorry I don't mean that way I've got to treat our guests too [SPEAKER_01]: That's a big ugly man because they're you're in super intelligent, but they're also man What they have to do on the fly is incredible and you know for me though It's just real quick, you know, I know I'm not the last new time [SPEAKER_01]: But can you like, like, shouldn't you guys think that, you know what, let's take care of the most dangerous or do you not see that most dangerous sometime when they're coming up there or is that guy holding on long enough for you've already committed to doing this and then that that lineback was coming through the question.

17:04 [SPEAKER_03]: Well, sometimes you do, but then if you have, like I said, you're, you're kind of working combinations across the line, where it's, you know, a lot of times it's too often to line an accountable for a defensive line and an alignment in a lineback, right? [SPEAKER_03]: To, to V2 essentially. [SPEAKER_03]: But if you have two separate groups of combination blocks that both think they're taking care of that most dangerous player, [SPEAKER_03]: than somebody else's left on block, right? [SPEAKER_03]: So if they both felt like that Sam linebacker, for example, was your most dangerous second level defender and then neither of them go for the mic, then you have two guys comboing to that the one linebacker while the other one is completely left on block. [SPEAKER_01]: I love it a lot of big stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: See that's what I'm talking about, man.

17:45 [SPEAKER_01]: That's why there's more of his guys on the planet right there, man, when it comes to football. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're not rocket scientists, but they could, some of them might even study that. [SPEAKER_01]: We had a couple. [SPEAKER_04]: That's right. [SPEAKER_04]: Tim Rodney, my little boy. [SPEAKER_01]: Watch a while receivers ahead. [SPEAKER_01]: no chance of being in rocket sciences and they probably had no chance to get in the degree or whatever university they went. [SPEAKER_04]: So we definitely knew our show. [SPEAKER_01]: It just run really, really fast, right? [SPEAKER_01]: I said they could run. [SPEAKER_01]: Some of you can't catch. [SPEAKER_02]: Also, you know, some of them just I, you know what I mean, some of what I got a question about the offensive line when it comes to proctor, you know, there's a lot of the bait. [SPEAKER_02]: He's a, uh, [SPEAKER_02]: This here is that left guard, where do you see him next year?

18:25 [SPEAKER_02]: Would you leave him there? [SPEAKER_02]: There's a question. [SPEAKER_02]: You slide him up to right tackle if you had a magic wand and could make that type of decision. [SPEAKER_03]: I would experiment with it because one, I wouldn't lock into it because coming out of Alabama, there were concerns with Katie and Proctor playing tackle at the NFL level, right? [SPEAKER_03]: He struggled in space a little bit. [SPEAKER_03]: and I think some of that may have been due to the weight that he seems to have gotten under control. [SPEAKER_03]: He looks fantastic right now and that may kind of fix some of the stuff that we saw at Alabama. [SPEAKER_03]: But I don't think that you can just say no questions asked.

19:07 [SPEAKER_03]: He's the right tackle next year and not have some concerns that those Alabama words are going to show back up. [SPEAKER_03]: with his size right he he's six seven three fifty you don't see a lot of guards that size and a lot of that has to do with the leverage they have to play with and that is not a concern at all with the way that he's been playing so he has been playing so well at left guard and making enough progress there that I would almost rather let him stay there [SPEAKER_03]: And after Paul had that left side just completely locked down. [SPEAKER_03]: And then, you know, he could still be your emergency left tackle as well.

19:50 [SPEAKER_03]: And that's the other side of the two is that you have no idea how he's going to do flipping sides, right even Jonah in college had played on the left side. [SPEAKER_03]: Proctor has never played on the left side as far as I know. [SPEAKER_03]: I don't think you did it at all on Alabama. [SPEAKER_03]: Probably didn't do it all in high school. [SPEAKER_03]: So there's a lot of unknown with having him flip sides. [SPEAKER_03]: If he continues progressing the way that he has it left guard, I see him being a proble, all pro left guard. [SPEAKER_03]: And if you can end the season kind of on that kind of a note, then I don't see any reason to move him. [SPEAKER_03]: and I would rather find some of the else to play right back. [SPEAKER_01]: Another great point coach. [SPEAKER_01]: There's another great point right there. [SPEAKER_01]: Coach, like people think that you play offensive line, you play offensive line, right, left center, whatever it might be.

20:33 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, and that is not the case. [SPEAKER_01]: Left hand to dirt, right hand to dirt. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a retrain of your brain on a lot of different things that you're and your body that people don't get that. [SPEAKER_01]: They think it's so easy to flip flops from side to side. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, we had a guy here, you know, Lee and Michael Burke and people he was maligned here, but the fact that he could at least play these different positions was big for us because you know, it is, you know, when the 47 is out there, you got to, you know, you got some guys can dress some canton, some guys have to be the guys that can play a lot of your positions, whether they're good at them or not. [SPEAKER_01]: Talk about how hard it is to go from left to right, left hand to stand, right hand to stand.

21:15 [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, those are those are people. [SPEAKER_01]: Those are the things that people don't even think about. [SPEAKER_01]: When they're saying all these guys, it's it's it's it's so I I tell try go up there and golf left hand if you're right handed golfer and see how that works for you. [SPEAKER_03]: Right. [SPEAKER_03]: And kind of the analogy that I make there is that, you know, because there are people that are talking about with the shoulders that Austin Jackson was having, should you go ahead and flip Kate and Proctor to the right side mid-season. [SPEAKER_03]: That's an absolute no for me for that exact reason, right? [SPEAKER_03]: And the analogy that I use is just handwriting, right? [SPEAKER_03]: Think about [SPEAKER_03]: You know, you are in school and you have to take a major test tomorrow and you have to take your notes by hand, but you can only do it with your non-dominant hand, right?

22:01 [SPEAKER_03]: How how are your notes going to be for that test that you have to take tomorrow and that's the same thing that you're asking. [SPEAKER_03]: Align me to do in your flipping sides, but it's not just taking notes. [SPEAKER_03]: Now you're protecting a human being from another 300 pounds human being and it's it's really tough Ask that I don't think a lot of people understand. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, great. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's been you know, I bold left hand right hand and man So now what's your 300 game with the right hand or I could mean Dennis just me what's that your 300 game was right hand or left hand [SPEAKER_01]: I was motion ready. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, and it was all ready. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, all right. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_04]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: 29 for all ready as well. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: That's all. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that last time.

22:42 [SPEAKER_01]: Go to right there. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, when I'm just messing around my friends, you know, pick it up to 10. [SPEAKER_01]: Then it'd be a left hand big bender mess. [SPEAKER_01]: Low roller, you know, coming in nice and easy and boom. [SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's a great analogy they're Jews because if you're if you're such a great bullard with your right hand, leg can and proctors a great left guard. [SPEAKER_03]: And then you're forced to bowl with your off hand, even though you're pretty good at it, is it worth taking that drop off? [SPEAKER_04]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know, I don't know if there's any games on Friday night, might try to try to hit one up Friday night, but you know, if not, I was considered maybe going to the FI U game on Saturday and I'm going to find some sort of football.

23:32 [SPEAKER_03]: There's going to be a game. [SPEAKER_01]: Somebody's playing football on Friday night. [SPEAKER_01]: Go on to the question game on Sunday's the question. [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, absolutely. [SPEAKER_03]: That's why that's why I'm here all the way here. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We'll be fine to count. [SPEAKER_01]: Get out. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: Hey, Jews. [SPEAKER_02]: He will find a game on serity for college and hit one of Seth's five or six favorite teams. [SPEAKER_01]: He's got a bunch up. [SPEAKER_01]: Watch it. [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: One. [SPEAKER_01]: We're looking good this is loyal to no one. [SPEAKER_04]: We are looking good. [SPEAKER_04]: I am loyal to me right now and that's what it is. [SPEAKER_04]: That's what exactly what it is. [SPEAKER_04]: He has coach Smith follow him at O. L. Coach Smith 63. [SPEAKER_04]: Really cool stuff breakdowns great video. [SPEAKER_04]: You might actually learn something on that account as opposed to most of the counts including my own.

24:15 [SPEAKER_04]: Those are the ones you want to watch. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah those are what you want to listen to right here. [SPEAKER_01]: Listen to coach Smith, man. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, my body's all these guys [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, because I played, I played offensive line one point on here. [SPEAKER_03]: There we go. [SPEAKER_03]: I got to hear this one. [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: This is like a ball. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we're all real old. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: So once I scored enough touchdowns and certain other positions, you know, I was kind of like a center or whatever those writers. [SPEAKER_02]: So you want one recipe to miss a simple day. [SPEAKER_01]: So you have the block with your arms behind your back. [SPEAKER_04]: You're not going to get off. [SPEAKER_01]: All of our eligible big set. [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's eligible. [SPEAKER_04]: you know that was that was green middle screen and me too good no I'm valuable coach Smith we appreciate you man stay dry out there okay yeah thanks for having me guys yeah really good stuff [SPEAKER_04]: All right.

25:06 [SPEAKER_04]: Well, there you go. [SPEAKER_04]: I won't coach me. [SPEAKER_04]: We got a cut and clip that one Mike. [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: Let's keep paid in Proctor at left guard. [SPEAKER_04]: I think are we all on the same page there keeping that man at left guard for this year. [SPEAKER_02]: I am yes, but I think next year he's right. [SPEAKER_02]: You do have to experiment. [SPEAKER_02]: Because I just think tackles a more. [SPEAKER_02]: Why do you have to? [SPEAKER_01]: Why don't have to. [SPEAKER_01]: Right, Mike. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: Why? [SPEAKER_02]: Because right tackles more important than left guard. [SPEAKER_02]: And I know in previous regimes, I've heard coaches and general managers who are no longer here for a reason, even the fine guards anywhere, you know what, they all couldn't find guards anywhere. [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't think we could find a guard now. [SPEAKER_02]: So I would experiment him and write tech because he's so athletic, he's so good. [SPEAKER_02]: I think tech was just more important than guard at the end of the day.

25:47 [SPEAKER_02]: So I would try it out. [SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't like he said, don't be locked into it, but, you know, Austin Jackson won't be here next year. [SPEAKER_02]: His concept. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm okay with that. [SPEAKER_02]: So, I would explore it because you can get a starting offensive guard cheaper than you can find a right tackle. [SPEAKER_02]: We got one over here. [SPEAKER_04]: And I wouldn't, you know, when they, when they said they're going to move in the guard, I was, you know, I was still pissed off about the main thing and I'm like, well, wait a minute. [SPEAKER_04]: Why are you going to, why are you going to play? [SPEAKER_04]: Why are you going to get a guy at 12th overall at the bottom of this thing? [SPEAKER_04]: Like I, that made no sense to me, but once you get on the field and, and then you start to see what's happened to the entire left side of the offensive line and then draft position doesn't matter where you can get somebody doesn't matter is just, you know, you always hear best five guys.

26:37 [SPEAKER_04]: That dude has been a beast at left guard and the entire left side of the offensive line has has been impacted by it in the best of ways. [SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, that's a whole lot of offensive line. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think I think that. [SPEAKER_01]: going in the year two, he can cross train fellas. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it really can. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, obviously too. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: The whole all season going on year two for him be a great opportunity for him to the cross train. [SPEAKER_01]: He's going to be our left guard, but also make sure that he learns a lot about right tackle as well. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, I wish all the guys to learn more about all the other positions. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we know that kidding, practically can play tackle. [SPEAKER_01]: He's been amazing so far, but we all have that God said every position. [SPEAKER_01]: Every single position, you know, I love I love coach coach Smith right there [SPEAKER_01]: You know, there are some times where it's going to be some hiccups, but that's at every position.

27:26 [SPEAKER_01]: That's at every single position, every game. [SPEAKER_01]: Nobody's going to grade out 100% on the great sheet. [SPEAKER_01]: That was 1,000%. [SPEAKER_01]: That was 1,000%. [SPEAKER_01]: That's all. [SPEAKER_01]: I would love for them to, you know, holding ways at right now and left guard them. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad he's back at work, [SPEAKER_01]: at least during the all season giving some work to film whatever might be a right tackle because I love to have at least a couple guys that can play multiple positions and he's a guy since he's played Taco before that could play multiple positions because he's going to play a whole year [SPEAKER_01]: and he's already played tackle in college and I think that we need to have more guys like that just in case because when things get bad for the football team is when we got guys that have never played the position or we got to bring in guys off the street that, you know, don't know anything about or aren't very good.

28:31 [SPEAKER_01]: If they're on the street, they're probably not [SPEAKER_01]: There's a reason on the street, we're on the couch eating Cheetos, you know what I mean? [SPEAKER_04]: So, trying to catch those snacks, trying to catch them, you're right. [SPEAKER_04]: And it's not easy. [SPEAKER_01]: So, I love her, our guys on the roster to be able to move around. [SPEAKER_01]: And like Mike said, I think, you know, guards, you know, I mean, [SPEAKER_01]: guards get a lot of help a lot of times they get a lot of help in different schemes so go find a guard somewhere else where you can use the tackles where they're on the island a lot and I think that would love for him to crawl. [SPEAKER_01]: I think he had to explore it. [SPEAKER_02]: I think he like he had to go for it because he's too good. [SPEAKER_02]: That dude's like he has so big and what he can do with his eyes you know those guys [SPEAKER_04]: Once you got someone like that, you got to try them at the most premium spot you got and that's what I would try them it will see we'll see I'm leaving them at left guard and I'll even care if he takes one step I mean this year you are of course yeah for sure yeah for this year no doubt no doubt so that's a whole lot of things of line talk for the the first 30 minutes of the show I want to move on to the Detroit Lions are coming to town [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I talked about the absence of physicality, uh, I think with proctor back, it's going to help a little bit, but it needs to be more than just one guy and, uh, the Troy and Dan Campbell, man Campbell are certainly known for being a physical football team.

29:51 [SPEAKER_04]: Can the dolphins after what you've seen through seven games and what you saw the last week can the dolphins match? [SPEAKER_04]: the Detroit Lions from a physicality standpoint, O.J. [SPEAKER_01]: McDuffee. [SPEAKER_01]: We are physical team, Big Seth. [SPEAKER_01]: I agree. [SPEAKER_01]: We are physical team. [SPEAKER_01]: But they physical don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, you know, I get what you're saying. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm a guy that thinks that. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, sometimes you make like young people are rookie or, you know, mistakes, but we're a physical football team. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, now here's the thing about it. [SPEAKER_01]: Can we need physical for four quarters? [SPEAKER_01]: Because you might be physical to be getting. [SPEAKER_01]: I was talking about big running backs and big running backs.

30:31 [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, they wear you down. [SPEAKER_01]: You tack them in the first quarter. [SPEAKER_01]: You tack them in the second quarter. [SPEAKER_01]: They're in fourth quarter. [SPEAKER_01]: You might not want to hit that big. [SPEAKER_01]: You might want to hit that Derek Henry type dude like again in the mouth, man. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, so I think that we are very physical football team. [SPEAKER_01]: Can we be physical for four quarters? [SPEAKER_01]: And that's going to be the issue. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, they got a, they're a solid team and a lot of different ways as we all know me. [SPEAKER_01]: They got their picture mirror gives at you as we all know. [SPEAKER_01]: That's going to be a tough. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and certainly a whole lot this year and he's a he becomes a physical guy people ain't think about it. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not saying you know, I'm a raw same brown, you know, he he's a guy that knowing kids basketball he's he's in the blocking.

31:15 [SPEAKER_01]: He's in the block game too. [SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't mind getting out there and getting his nose dirty man. [SPEAKER_01]: So we've got to figure out a way. [SPEAKER_01]: that we can go out there and, you know, be ourselves, but you got to master physicality. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, the fighting encambles are gonna come in here and be a physical football team. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think you're right. [SPEAKER_04]: I think you're right. [SPEAKER_04]: And so we'll see what they, if they can match that intensity. [SPEAKER_04]: Um, I think now that they've tasted victory juice and they had in their minds, I'm sure they felt like they had victory in their hands and let it slip away this Saturday week. [SPEAKER_01]: They didn't have it in their mind. [SPEAKER_04]: You don't think so? [SPEAKER_01]: No, I think they were scared to lose.

31:57 [SPEAKER_04]: You think they were scared of you really do? [SPEAKER_04]: I do. [SPEAKER_04]: Who did you see? [SPEAKER_04]: Let's talk about it then. [SPEAKER_04]: Who did you see that you felt looked scared to lose? [SPEAKER_01]: I thought everybody in terms of game plan, play calling, plays. [SPEAKER_01]: They were really great to lose that football game. [SPEAKER_01]: They were, they might have been shocked that they were up in the last. [SPEAKER_01]: Give me an example. [SPEAKER_01]: Give me an example of some example of that way. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, what do you just say? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, it's one of the people that I was afraid for us to lose. [SPEAKER_01]: That's, that's the only thing that you saw in the field that made you feel that make conservative play, you know, missing plays, missing opportunities to make plays, you know, to me, afraid to mess up, you know, we had so many plays that were opportunities for this team to win that football game, but I think that at some point there were more afraid of losing it than they were more gung-ho about trying to win this football game.

32:53 [SPEAKER_01]: And that could be anything. [SPEAKER_01]: We play it, call it, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: Execution though, you know, it was, it was lousy. [SPEAKER_01]: It was trash at the end of this game, you know? [SPEAKER_01]: You know, really was. [SPEAKER_04]: I tell you, once Illy Gordon had that personal foul. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, here we go, everything just, here we go. [SPEAKER_02]: We're on two, ding ding. [SPEAKER_02]: I just felt like everything went south. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what you know where I thought everything went south. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, here we go. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a bunch of ways that game went south What how about you know how about Chris Johnson's miss that did it go south in here? [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, um that was how did that drive how did that drive finish? [SPEAKER_02]: And you have to go back and look, I'm curious. [SPEAKER_02]: That was a big play though.

33:33 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's a big thing. [SPEAKER_04]: I think that's a big. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a kill shot. [SPEAKER_04]: How could that be? [SPEAKER_01]: So freaking kill shot. [SPEAKER_01]: And we would have loved to have that up. [SPEAKER_01]: So Ali's, Ali's play stopped the game from, come on, man. [SPEAKER_01]: You talk about momentum. [SPEAKER_01]: Like we talked about across. [SPEAKER_04]: So original momentum breaker. [SPEAKER_01]: So, so you think of a kill shot. [SPEAKER_01]: to come on, man, Drake made with the chains of all men and women's football game. [SPEAKER_04]: I can't can somebody. [SPEAKER_01]: I answer me this, Robin. [SPEAKER_01]: Answer me this, sad. [SPEAKER_01]: You tell he a kill shot in the back of Drake may wouldn't have changed the moment of that football game play would have just like you're talking about the other side without the Gordon. [SPEAKER_04]: No, but the other one, you're talking about what would have been. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm saying what happened.

34:13 [SPEAKER_01]: No, please. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I'm telling you what happened to me, Mr. [SPEAKER_02]: So my Annie was up six to three in the second quarter when that happened and I want to say it was on fourth I don't know what to compare that to the oligorden plate. [SPEAKER_01]: What is that kill shot? [SPEAKER_01]: brings in the backup quarterback. [SPEAKER_01]: If that happened, if that happens, that is the whole difference. [SPEAKER_01]: He's done shy after that. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't know what, you can't tell me what would happen to me. [SPEAKER_01]: Don't shy because of that. [SPEAKER_01]: Please. [SPEAKER_01]: Because he got hit, hit you in your back and see what the hell happens. [SPEAKER_04]: I ain't right, man. [SPEAKER_04]: You know, I'm a PR guy for crying. [SPEAKER_01]: I've been hit the back before and I'm looking behind me after that.

34:55 [SPEAKER_04]: I know I'm sure it doesn't feel good. [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: Let's talk about this. [SPEAKER_04]: And this is people have been tweeting different versions of this and it's an interesting point and I think an interesting conversation We'll see what they say in the chat if they think it's interesting or not The judge traded and I'm going to Miami. [SPEAKER_04]: What did I miss? [SPEAKER_04]: So so The dolphins are one and six we all know this Jeff Haffley [SPEAKER_04]: John Erick Sullivan take over this team. [SPEAKER_04]: We've got the great purge, not a tank, stop saying it's tank. [SPEAKER_04]: It's a great purge, the great cleanse. [SPEAKER_04]: Expectations are low. [SPEAKER_04]: Some people had expectations even lower than this. [SPEAKER_04]: Some people didn't think it was going to be this bad.

35:36 [SPEAKER_04]: But last year, this time through seven games, the Miami dolphins were one in six. [SPEAKER_04]: Same record is last year. [SPEAKER_03]: I feel like there's a little bit different being one in six this year. [SPEAKER_04]: How was one in six last year? [SPEAKER_04]: So how different are there two one in sixes? [SPEAKER_04]: And how much better do you guys feel? [SPEAKER_04]: Michael, I'll start with you with you since you had this. [SPEAKER_04]: And Fatta Kelly. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, this is a slam better. [SPEAKER_04]: Let's go, don't get. [SPEAKER_03]: I like to see Mike with a big. [SPEAKER_02]: I feel so much better because last year, we hit star players. [SPEAKER_02]: You had Waddle, you had Chub, Jalen Phillips, this one, that one, you had star players on that roster. [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe not a ton of them, but you had enough, and one in six was a very big under achievement.

36:21 [SPEAKER_02]: We were, I forget the exact week. [SPEAKER_02]: I think it was around Halloween time. [SPEAKER_02]: When we went to Cleveland and played that got off a game, we were $200 million in the quarterbacks throwing the ball to a wrong team on every play. [SPEAKER_02]: Like that, you can get lower. [SPEAKER_02]: You can't get more down than that type of a game. [SPEAKER_02]: This year, we got $180 million to dead money. [SPEAKER_02]: We got a bunch of rookies that are just planned, or, you know, they're out there playing hard every snap with their hairs on fire. [SPEAKER_02]: They're running around. [SPEAKER_02]: They don't know what they're doing half the time, [SPEAKER_02]: and you know it's it's totally different because we're in these games and games we should the Patriots were in the Super Bowl last year. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay Kansas City has got three hall famers that had coach tied in and quarterback and hung around with them.

37:07 [SPEAKER_02]: You know the Cincinnati game wasn't necessarily close but they didn't quit. [SPEAKER_02]: They were on 28th and a fourth quarter. [SPEAKER_02]: They made it a one score game in a fourth quarter. [SPEAKER_02]: They played hard and they crawled back [SPEAKER_02]: Even when they went to play the Vikings and all the, you know, I mean, that's one of the best teams to league on one side of the ball. [SPEAKER_02]: They put up a fight. [SPEAKER_02]: They could have won that game honestly. [SPEAKER_02]: This team would know expectations has surpassed so many expectations. [SPEAKER_02]: I think they're just not getting blown out. [SPEAKER_02]: And last year's team couldn't beat anybody. [SPEAKER_02]: And they paid a ton of those guys. [SPEAKER_02]: Make us here, tour, for that amount of them. [SPEAKER_02]: Like, that would've picked name guys. [SPEAKER_02]: It couldn't beat anybody. [SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, one in six, you'd watch these games, and you weren't pissed off after the game.

37:52 [SPEAKER_02]: This year, we lose them, I guess, socks, but you know what, damn, I saw this, I saw this, I saw this, I saw this, which got lead into my segment at the end of the show. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, see, it's totally different because of what the expectations levels are. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, Mike, I couldn't agree more, man. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, I'm totally with you. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we thought that team the last few years was gonna get better and better and better. [SPEAKER_01]: And it did. [SPEAKER_01]: It fell off a cliff last year, the most part. [SPEAKER_01]: It really did. [SPEAKER_01]: And with the same pieces parts, and that's what bothers you more than anything. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, sometimes when you lose like this team has right now, [SPEAKER_01]: We have like a lot of new guys and all these other things you expect the mediocrity or you expect them not to go out there and win every single game But they have been very very very competitive the team last year Man, that's what they did and you know what 23 24 24 does much 24 20 you expect them to bounce back in 25 and beat that team [SPEAKER_01]: Especially with all the weapons you're talking with you say here's the thing I love the same Office of system same office of weapons all those things together is what usually leads to success When it comes to football, you know me we had Coach Mithor right now Office line guys a bunch of those guys.

39:15 [SPEAKER_01]: There was still one a team That's up so something with that team last year [SPEAKER_01]: was a miss. [SPEAKER_01]: It really was obviously, you know, because they got the exact same record that's going on with this team right now. [SPEAKER_01]: This team's one in six start is nothing, nothing even close to that other team because that other team had way higher expectations and they 1000% big set under a chief what they were supposed to do. [SPEAKER_01]: in the Miami Dolphins awkward orange. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's a damn shame because they had everything they needed to be successful. [SPEAKER_01]: Even at the time we got hurt, all these different things they they still had a love guys with that team to go out there and make some freaking plays man.

39:59 [SPEAKER_01]: And it just got out of control and it became embarrassing more than anything with his football team. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this team right here. [SPEAKER_01]: little expectations, but I'm telling it's like, like Mike has said, I mean, they go out there, man, and we, they give me hope every single game, even though I know we're not supposed to win games, yeah, I think there's a chance that we can win games. [SPEAKER_01]: Last year, I thought we should win a lot of games, you know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: And then when we didn't, I was deflated. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm right here like I'm like, oh, there's the main difference just there's one main difference. [SPEAKER_02]: It's got nothing to do with the players and it's a word. [SPEAKER_02]: We've heard a lot in the past 24 hours. [SPEAKER_02]: If you're watching certain TV accountability last year. [SPEAKER_02]: There's no accountability for anything this year.

40:42 [SPEAKER_02]: We got a code that's holding everyone accountable for everything if this if we had this, you know, half Lee and this whole staff with the talent we had in 2022 to my 324 25 I bet you things would have been a lot different. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Mike, I'll tell you this, too. [SPEAKER_01]: This year, too, we've got the right guys in that lock room, lead this football team. [SPEAKER_02]: They got rid of the choppers. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think, also, we got the right guys in the pipeline that are going to lead this football team. [SPEAKER_01]: That's great, and that is critical. [SPEAKER_01]: They continue like, whatever they start here now with the culture, which is, I think is amazing right now.

41:22 [SPEAKER_01]: That culture will continue as long as we keep these guys coming up through the pipeline. [SPEAKER_01]: The guys that we have now is our veteran leaders. [SPEAKER_01]: They're teaching the, you know, the Rodriguez, the Johnson's, the bells, the Douglas, they're teaching those guys how to work and how to do things. [SPEAKER_01]: And then once these guys that are our leaders now fade out, [SPEAKER_01]: in those guys to be the guys that know the culture, the how we do things around here, and so on and so forth. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how franchises succeed over time. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: It's great to have a quarterback, like some of these guys have done to be successful, but when you can bring in separate pieces parts, and your team still stays on that dominant side, [SPEAKER_01]: That is because there's a culture that's been created and that's by halfway.

42:07 [SPEAKER_01]: That's by Sullivan. [SPEAKER_01]: That's by all the guys in that in locker, even even the train of room. [SPEAKER_01]: I know a good friend of mine Troy Mauer. [SPEAKER_01]: He loves tough guys. [SPEAKER_01]: And he works on guys that are hurt all the time. [SPEAKER_01]: But he loves and he sees tough guys on his football team. [SPEAKER_01]: And when you've got tough guys, you've got tough guys. [SPEAKER_01]: You've got tough guys. [SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have a tough football team. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's really, really important. [SPEAKER_01]: moving forward because that stuff is going to be regenerated. [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be over and over and over again. [SPEAKER_01]: You'll bring in the same type of guys in the older guys, with TC younger guys, the younger guys become older guys or TC younger guys. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how you maintain stability and you also maintain a certain level of consistency when it comes to a football team that's what I'm looking forward to with this group of guys right here starting with those leadership in the locker not just selling in half with the players that they have right there that's why it's whole you know talking about that you know to me the trade thing keeps that you know me.

43:14 [SPEAKER_01]: Keep him, keep Sealer and then, you know, me figure out the rest afterwards, man, we're already in cap hell anyway. [SPEAKER_01]: Keep Sealer and then, because you need guys like that, the teeth, the rest of the guys. [SPEAKER_01]: We got a bunch of young guys in the defensive line. [SPEAKER_01]: Don't lose somebody that's really got their ear right now. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: So. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I just think that everything's been being done the right way and I've talked about back to what you said big said about the two different teams, the same right here is doing the right way, but I think the lock room culture is absolutely incredible, you know, I like the name drop a lot of times too, right, I love it known to do it, you know, time to do it. [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, when I was at a stadium this past weekend, [SPEAKER_01]: I met, I met, Jacob Rodriguez that mom.

44:01 [SPEAKER_01]: I met Wilcass Mary's mom and dad, great people. [SPEAKER_01]: And they love, their kids love playing here in Miami. [SPEAKER_01]: They love what's going on in that locker room. [SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know if they would have said anything different to me. [SPEAKER_01]: But their face lit up, talking about half Lee and those guys. [SPEAKER_01]: And maybe [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I saw this all thinning for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure it was exactly right, man. [SPEAKER_01]: So that that part right there. [SPEAKER_01]: Those are two guys that can be real big leaders on this football team, but their parents are feeling the two because their kids come home and they talk about it. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's great.

44:43 [SPEAKER_04]: I'm happy to hear that for sure. [SPEAKER_04]: That's a nice little added behind the curtain piece that they might, can I talk about that? [SPEAKER_01]: You would have ruined a suite too. [SPEAKER_01]: I can't talk about that. [SPEAKER_04]: We can get to that. [SPEAKER_04]: So I will say the one in six dolphins last year, their one victory was also against those think in New York jets, which is kind of funny. [SPEAKER_04]: But to me, one of the biggest issues between the two was what was happening at the quarterback position. [SPEAKER_04]: And I think my week Willis is getting unfairly dragged by this fan base and it's really starting to bug me, but we saw the wheels fall off of a $200 million quarterback last year at this time. [SPEAKER_04]: And that was, I mean, that really was kind of like, [SPEAKER_04]: a microcosm of the entire organization at that point.

45:32 [SPEAKER_04]: And that loss, that sixth loss was the loss to Cleveland. [SPEAKER_04]: It was absolutely embarrassing. [SPEAKER_04]: That was when the general manager was let go. [SPEAKER_04]: Quite frankly, I think it was the same. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, he was like off to the Ravens game. [SPEAKER_02]: He was like off to the Ravens game on a Thursday. [SPEAKER_02]: When everyone was leaving the stadium, that's when he was right. [SPEAKER_04]: You're exactly right. [SPEAKER_02]: Everyone should have been let go at that game. [SPEAKER_02]: That was my thing. [SPEAKER_02]: That's like if you're going to say. [SPEAKER_04]: Wait, you said after the Ravens game? [SPEAKER_02]: That was the Thursday night here. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, it was 30th. [SPEAKER_02]: That was a career. [SPEAKER_02]: He was gone the next day. [SPEAKER_02]: But after a Cleveland game is when everyone should have been let go. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, that's that's who that's who should have been let go after that game at that point was the head coach. [SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, yeah, and here's the thing about it.

46:13 [SPEAKER_01]: If we were to lose the Cleveland with this group, we would be like, you know what? [SPEAKER_01]: It's a, I mean, it's not just a lot of what it is, but losing it down and who we thought we were, who we thought we were, that's it. [SPEAKER_01]: We thought we were better team than that. [SPEAKER_01]: And we were we should have been a better team than that. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what I mean. [SPEAKER_04]: For a share of Jews and you talked about how they fought back, they didn't quit, again, Cincinnati, even it was probably their worst game of the season, and they didn't quit, and they fought back, and they made it competitive at the end. [SPEAKER_04]: We saw no fight against Cleveland. [SPEAKER_04]: The Cleveland Browns last year, we saw no fight. [SPEAKER_02]: So, just as I told you the Cleveland's, how they lost the Cleveland, they're unbearable.

46:54 [SPEAKER_02]: They didn't seem like they cared, honestly. [SPEAKER_02]: It was just a mess. [SPEAKER_04]: By the way, that was, that was the queen yours was, was moved up to the backup quarterback, because we felt that's what gave us the best chance to win, was to make a change with the, the backup quarterback position, who wasn't going to play in the game. [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, that's that. [SPEAKER_04]: Thank goodness it's all behind us, but it is good to compare. [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to throw a name at you guys. [SPEAKER_04]: And there's some people talking about should the dolphin speaking in the quarterback position. [SPEAKER_04]: Lamar Jackson. [SPEAKER_04]: This gives people's blood boil and I love them. [SPEAKER_04]: Lamar Jackson. [SPEAKER_04]: So we'll mark Jackson and miss a few games comes back to play.

47:37 [SPEAKER_04]: First ball that he throws bangs his thumb against the guy's helmet or arm or whatever it was. [SPEAKER_04]: He's out again. [SPEAKER_04]: I know a couple years ago he threw 41 touchdowns with the MVP of the league. [SPEAKER_04]: I think he's one one playoff game in his career and he's with spectacular player like what what an exciting guy to watch spectacular player. [SPEAKER_04]: some people think the dolphins should absolutely chase down this guy, trade for him, go get Lamar Jackson, other people are saying no thanks. [SPEAKER_04]: I want to know where you guys stand. [SPEAKER_04]: Mike, let's start with you. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, there's a lot to sort of unpack here. [SPEAKER_02]: Let me sort of narrow this down. [SPEAKER_02]: Number one, this came out of the brain of Michael Irvin. [SPEAKER_02]: So I think everyone just needs to allow a little bit.

48:19 [SPEAKER_02]: Is that like it came from Peter Kane? [SPEAKER_02]: Now like it came from Adam Shepter. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not like it came from me in Raffafore. [SPEAKER_02]: It just came from Michael Irvin and it's responding in opinions. [SPEAKER_02]: So there's no like rumor, there's no speculation. [SPEAKER_02]: No, both teams are talking to each other. [SPEAKER_02]: That's nothing to do with that. [SPEAKER_02]: This is just sort of total speculate, reckless. [SPEAKER_02]: speculation, which is the best kind of speculation if you ask me. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, but the point still remains after this year if the ravens want to move on, he's got one more year in his deal. [SPEAKER_02]: He has a full no trade clause. [SPEAKER_02]: And he also can't be franchise tagged either. [SPEAKER_02]: So Lamar's got all the power. [SPEAKER_02]: So if the ravens want to trade them to say, let's just say the jet. [SPEAKER_02]: Lamar's going to go, oh, no, think that happening. [SPEAKER_02]: Uh, send me to Miami and South Florida around from if he if he wanted to force a trade.

49:02 [SPEAKER_02]: Now, do I think Miami would will trade for him? [SPEAKER_02]: No. [SPEAKER_02]: I do not think this front office will look to a quarter of our Jackson. [SPEAKER_02]: I think a previous front office would. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think this one will. [SPEAKER_04]: So the double is contract and then pay me the next year. [SPEAKER_02]: I think Nick Wright, who I think is a highly intelligent guy on Fox Sports, he seems to think, Miami would have to part with a first-round pick to get him, including if it's the number one pick of the draft, which made me chuckle, because I'm like, if he is on the block, I'd give you a few thirds and let's just call the day. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, there's no way someone's going to part with a top five pickful of my Jackson. [SPEAKER_02]: Look, he's one two MVP's no one's doubting the talent.

49:43 [SPEAKER_02]: He's only 29 years old. [SPEAKER_02]: He has he been hurt a lot of late. [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you got a factor that in. [SPEAKER_02]: Do I think you just, let's just say in a world where this is even possible. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he just shut it down because I do think the guy's a game changer. [SPEAKER_02]: So I think you have to somewhat entertain it, which I think is what Height said in his sub-stack, you have to at least entertain it because they guys so good. [SPEAKER_02]: But I'm part of the first round pick for him. [SPEAKER_02]: He's going to want a new deal, which is going to make a ton of money. [SPEAKER_02]: So you got to know what his expectation is. [SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't work with an agent, which makes that part even really that much harder. [SPEAKER_02]: It ain't gonna happen, but I don't think you slam, you just slam the door, no way, I do think you have to if this effort does come to some sort of anything, you have to at least entertain it.

50:33 [SPEAKER_04]: I'm slamming the door. [SPEAKER_02]: Juice, where do you stay on? [SPEAKER_01]: I love what happens. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love, I love the Mark Jackson. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm what you guys. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, honestly, as Flucca's last injury was, injury still continued to pile up. [SPEAKER_01]: hamstring issues always the issue for me, especially when you got a quarterback that's a running quarterback. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it's better situation down here because it's always nice and warm. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't worry about as much as of injuries like that. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm still like, no matter how up and down or down mostly, Malik will just play, I'm still giving him two years, man. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm giving this year next year.

51:13 [SPEAKER_01]: I really am. [SPEAKER_01]: I think we got more pressing needs right now. [SPEAKER_01]: Then we do with that position instead of spending money on a quarterbacks on a cost a lot of bucks. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to, I don't want to, I don't want to spend a lot of bucks on, you know, on a quarterback right now when we don't have to. [SPEAKER_01]: Lastly, and Sullivan, they've got a hall pass for two or three years, man. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're going to build this thing the right way. [SPEAKER_01]: And by getting a free agent or trading for a quarterback, that's not the way to do this thing, man. [SPEAKER_01]: Go out there. [SPEAKER_01]: If you want to get a quarterback, it's got to come through the draft. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, you know, second, third, fourth round. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking at, I'm looking at all these first round guys who are talking about, I'm not in the first round.

51:56 [SPEAKER_02]: That's a problem. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not in, I'm not in press with any of those guys. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, that were projecting in the first round. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to go out there and spend my new money. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'll be all to Bentley. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, I'm going to be in no offense to, you know, I'm going to get myself a Hyundai or Kia because I mean, I've got a car. [SPEAKER_01]: I've got a Hyundai. [SPEAKER_01]: I love it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's on the best cars that reliable. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god. [SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing service. [SPEAKER_01]: Everything about that thing is absolutely 100,000 miles. [SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, I mean, if I got to work on anything and technology, oh, best, but that's a whole different story, big set. [SPEAKER_01]: My whole thing is this. [SPEAKER_01]: I love the Marjazz and he's a hell of a quarterback.

52:37 [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, two times MVP and a great talent, local kid, but our needs are if we're going to go quarterback, it's got to be driving the young guy that we're going to develop and try to and try and make sure that we have a league, maybe we've got going on, works out here because they can use so much more [SPEAKER_01]: to fill this roster out because I'm gonna tell you this, this last draft, so far my opinion, hit it out of ballpark, man. [SPEAKER_01]: If I give him another draft, you know, that might be a late round quarterback, whatever might be, I'm not giving up any of my draft picks because I love where we're going with our picks so far.

53:24 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, yeah, this is what you guys and again, this came out of the mouth of Michael Irvin just sort of speculating No reporting to back any of this stuff up. [SPEAKER_02]: It's not happening. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, no, but the idea is right. [SPEAKER_04]: The idea is disgruntled and you know, that's right. [SPEAKER_02]: He's got all the power and if he goes, I want to go home. [SPEAKER_01]: I can't even like a see don't even like the dolphins. [SPEAKER_01]: He only a room for the dolphins. [SPEAKER_01]: What's he talking about? [SPEAKER_01]: I think he would have a lot of friends here, but there's a sport of thing, right, but I don't, I don't think we're out for you. [SPEAKER_04]: Who's not from South Florida? [SPEAKER_01]: My girl. [SPEAKER_04]: Michael, where was your South Florida? [SPEAKER_04]: He went to Puyber High School. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe.

54:04 [SPEAKER_04]: He went to Puyber High School and then finished at St. Oh, yeah, say Thomas, you're right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: He's absolutely the South Florida guy. [SPEAKER_04]: He's the South Florida guy. [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, [SPEAKER_04]: He was, he was, um, why do you all fix that? [SPEAKER_04]: I'm trying to choose my words carefully. [SPEAKER_04]: He was, he was dismissed. [SPEAKER_04]: He was dismissed from the school. [UNKNOWN]: Okay. [SPEAKER_04]: He's talked about it. [SPEAKER_04]: I heard him say this publicly. [SPEAKER_04]: So I, you know, I know what I like. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm, I like, I like, I like, yeah, you know, [SPEAKER_04]: There's things about him. [SPEAKER_04]: I like it. [SPEAKER_04]: I just a little bit much with you know, let me not say much. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, for one of your five favorite calls.

54:44 [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so you should like he did. [SPEAKER_04]: He absolutely did. [SPEAKER_04]: And he went to my high school for a time. [SPEAKER_04]: But so, you know, what he said, juice, I heard him say this. [SPEAKER_04]: He said that he was, you know, he was from a certain part of town. [SPEAKER_04]: And he was bust in the paper and that he was not mature enough to be around people that were like the people that he grew up, but that's what he, yeah, so that's all, you know, and things didn't work out and he landed it. [SPEAKER_04]: He landed a George Smith. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, how do you land at the same time as a court Smith. [SPEAKER_04]: Welcome to the same time as a college and how do you land at the same time because he's he became a you know legendary player there.

55:26 [SPEAKER_01]: But you know what though I do appreciate co-smith because a lot of guys are misplaced and they need another opportunity in Michael Irvin has 1,000 percent [SPEAKER_04]: taking advantage of that up and you know what else is is cool about him and you know when we'll get back on the rails here Yeah, you want to talk about choose the way you are the biggest doll fan that played for the team [SPEAKER_04]: Michael Irvin, any team he's been associated with. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my god, you know, cowboys, I wouldn't go there, but out there. [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm just saying he loves and so St. Thomas, I think he continues to support St. Thomas or has supported. [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, we're moving on from my question.

56:07 [SPEAKER_04]: Support Piper anymore? [SPEAKER_04]: No, Piper. [SPEAKER_04]: I don't think he has the same love for a week. [SPEAKER_04]: But that's, you know, that's my squad. [SPEAKER_04]: Those are my guys. [SPEAKER_01]: I get it. [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely. [SPEAKER_04]: My bangles. [SPEAKER_04]: That's too good. [SPEAKER_04]: So I like how Millie Campbell. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: I grew with you, box and bill. [SPEAKER_04]: I thought Millie showed leadership there with the, with the Alli Gordon piece. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, we didn't go in there. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Because you don't eat. [SPEAKER_01]: We started, we talked about Ali, yeah, yeah, yeah, I just felt we already did. [SPEAKER_04]: So if you want to know how O.J. [SPEAKER_04]: McDuffee and I feel about the O.J. [SPEAKER_04]: Gordon situation and the importance that play and that penalty played or did not play on the result of the game, go check out the crossover show.

56:52 [SPEAKER_04]: You can see it on Dolphins talk right here on Dolphins [SPEAKER_04]: And Mike was Switzerland. [SPEAKER_04]: He was kind of right there in the middle and in OG and I had a repair our friendship after the show. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it was on and we're still not good big set. [SPEAKER_04]: We're still not good through it though. [SPEAKER_04]: We're getting through it by Sunday. [SPEAKER_04]: We'll be ready to go. [SPEAKER_04]: That's all that matters. [SPEAKER_04]: So good stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, look, it's, my God, look at the time. [SPEAKER_04]: Where is it gone? [SPEAKER_04]: We have no legal zone, Chad Van Horn. [SPEAKER_04]: We miss you as those of you who follow the show regularly, no fish tank is presented by Van Horn Law Group and our buddy Chad Van Horn was not available tonight because he's doing great work in a legal space. [SPEAKER_04]: So we're gonna skip the legal zone and move right into, I tried to tell you all.

57:37 [SPEAKER_04]: I think I'm sitting this one out, but you guys are carrying it. [SPEAKER_04]: Is that just what you did? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I really want it. [SPEAKER_04]: All right, you kicking it off. [SPEAKER_04]: And it might be pretty good home. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, perfect, because my, mys the clothes are red. [SPEAKER_01]: He's got that. [SPEAKER_01]: He's got that. [SPEAKER_01]: He's got that. [SPEAKER_01]: He's got that. [SPEAKER_01]: 105 amount of stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: That's just me, I got something. [SPEAKER_01]: You got to me. [SPEAKER_01]: All right. [SPEAKER_01]: I tried to tell you all back when I was catching pass from Dan, running routes when they're shooting, and grinding it out and awkward noise Seth, that's right, awkward noise. [SPEAKER_01]: I already knew that the real game wasn't just on Sunday, the scoreboard that matters most is the one in the community. [SPEAKER_01]: the one that decides what kind of future our kids get.

58:17 [SPEAKER_01]: No one voted for me to get drafted by the Miami Dolphins in 1993, other than Big Seth. [SPEAKER_01]: The rest was scouting reports film and a phone call from Don Shua. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how the league works, but the country doesn't work that way. [SPEAKER_01]: The right to vote is something that belongs to the people. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't need a [SPEAKER_01]: You just need to show up. [SPEAKER_01]: People may not have voted for me, but I think they got the right candidate to represent the Miami Dolphins for eternity. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm still here. [SPEAKER_01]: Still rep and awkward norms. [SPEAKER_01]: Still talking about the franchise because it means something. [SPEAKER_01]: People want me to vote red or blue.

58:59 [SPEAKER_01]: You know what? [SPEAKER_01]: I vote awkward orange. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm an independent and I only want what was best for the country and the Miami Dolphins. [SPEAKER_01]: Party lines come and go. [SPEAKER_01]: The franchise [SPEAKER_01]: in a community, I've called home is bigger than that. [SPEAKER_01]: And thank goodness, all the political ads are over. [SPEAKER_01]: My goodness, I was starting to watch, I started to think TV was going to need a timeout. [SPEAKER_01]: At least when a dolphins run the game, the same play too many times, they eventually switch it up. [SPEAKER_01]: Right-to-king fame, she said, why can't we all just get along? [SPEAKER_01]: We saw a little version of that on the sidelines this past Sunday between Malik Willis [SPEAKER_01]: Emotions got high, words work, change, but at the end of the day, they're still teammates.

59:45 [SPEAKER_01]: They still have to line up together on the next play. [SPEAKER_01]: Same thing in this country. [SPEAKER_01]: We can disagree. [SPEAKER_01]: We can have heated moments, and we still have to move forward together. [SPEAKER_01]: Every vote counts the same way every play counts. [SPEAKER_01]: Look at the 1972 Dolphins. [SPEAKER_01]: The only perfect season team in the NFL history. [SPEAKER_01]: Dad, close ones that year. [SPEAKER_01]: One miss Taco, one drop pass, one miss Fulgo and there's no perfect season. [SPEAKER_01]: Margin's matter. [SPEAKER_01]: One play can change the whole outcome. [SPEAKER_01]: Same with one vote. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't care who you vote for or who you're a vote for in the future, but character matters.

1:00:27 [SPEAKER_01]: And half-laying Sullivan have the right characters on this team. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why I vote for the team for them to succeed for the next decade plus. [SPEAKER_01]: Good people, the right culture, the right direction. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what Bill is something that lasts. [SPEAKER_01]: The dolphins have always had a bigger responsibility. [SPEAKER_01]: The early [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the early black players who put it on the scene and had the uniforms in the mid 60s walked into Miami and that didn't always open his doors to them. [SPEAKER_01]: They dealt with the heat on and off the field. [SPEAKER_01]: So guys like me could play to our sons could dream that same thread runs through.

1:01:09 [SPEAKER_01]: That same thread runs through, having a voice. [SPEAKER_01]: A voteless people is a powerless people. [SPEAKER_01]: The short step in this booth is the longest ride for democracy. [SPEAKER_01]: Dr. King said it, and his son brought that messy straight to our practice field years ago. [SPEAKER_01]: Speaking of history, the first black players in NFL were Bobby Marshall and Fritz Pollard back in 1920, the league's very first season. [SPEAKER_01]: Then after 1933, the door slammed shut because an unofficial agreement amongst owners led by men who decided black players were bad for business. [SPEAKER_01]: that wasn't good.

1:01:50 [SPEAKER_01]: It took until 1946 for the lead to reintegrate and even then some teams dragged their feet for years after that. [SPEAKER_01]: Progress doesn't happen on its own. [SPEAKER_01]: It takes people willing to push and people willing to show up and demand it. [SPEAKER_01]: I watched this franchise step up and lead it. [SPEAKER_01]: In 2017, we became the first pro team with every player registered in vote. [SPEAKER_01]: With Martin Luther King to third right there and Davey helping get it done. [SPEAKER_01]: Kenny Stills got the ball rolling. [SPEAKER_01]: Love him or hating. [SPEAKER_01]: That's not the point here. [SPEAKER_01]: Didn't the players social impact committee put real money behind restoring voting rights for people who were paid their debt, who paid their debt, but still face barriers from fines and fees.

1:02:39 [SPEAKER_01]: Guys on the current roster recorded PSAs telling fans every voice matters. [SPEAKER_01]: Not just big national elections, but the local ones that shape schools, neighborhoods, and everyday life. [SPEAKER_01]: The NFL gives us a platform, most people never get. [SPEAKER_01]: We use it for touchdowns and highlights. [SPEAKER_01]: We should also use it for turnout. [SPEAKER_01]: past team, current team, same franchise, same duty from the locker room bridges of perfect season era to the registration drives and community work. [SPEAKER_01]: The responsibility has hasn't changed. [SPEAKER_01]: As a father watching my sons grow up, I know the most important play isn't on the field.

1:03:21 [SPEAKER_01]: It's making sure the next generation has a voice and actually uses it. [SPEAKER_01]: I want our kids future to be viewing a winning Dolphins franchise. [SPEAKER_01]: One they can be proud of, on the field and in the community. [SPEAKER_01]: Yesterday was election day, it showed up in handle business good. [SPEAKER_01]: Yesterday was election day. [SPEAKER_01]: If you showed up and handled business good, if you didn't, the next one is already on the way. [SPEAKER_01]: Register, stay engaged, book like your family's future depends on it because it does. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, we need to just move forward, all right? [SPEAKER_01]: As a nation and as a franchise, I try to tell you.

1:04:03 [SPEAKER_02]: There you go. [SPEAKER_04]: Good stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: Timely appropriate. [SPEAKER_04]: I love some of that dolphins history as well. [SPEAKER_04]: And it fell history. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_04]: Well done, Jews. [SPEAKER_04]: You you you you sandbag this earlier today. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I've been working man. [SPEAKER_04]: You helped put me to work today. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I've been working today man. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I'm sure hand this wheel. [SPEAKER_02]: We got to, you know, so we got to come through. [SPEAKER_01]: That's it. [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's got to come. [SPEAKER_01]: Miss Paula. [SPEAKER_01]: I had no help from [SPEAKER_04]: Awesome. [SPEAKER_04]: Well, shout out to Paula then as well because that was that was well done. [SPEAKER_04]: Good stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: Really good stuff And if we had a drum roll We would start it now. [SPEAKER_04]: No pressure Mike.

1:04:43 [SPEAKER_02]: I want to have a drum roll. [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, let's hear it Let's go it's time for the bike drop ladies and gentlemen. [SPEAKER_04]: No for juices. [SPEAKER_02]: I almost started playing this one but I want to throw him off [SPEAKER_04]: Nice, that would have been great. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know. [SPEAKER_02]: Um, so here's the deal. [SPEAKER_02]: I have one right to go and I'm going to do it. [SPEAKER_02]: But you mentioned something during his that got me thinking. [SPEAKER_02]: So I got like one and a half tonight. [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm really picking up the slack. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay. [SPEAKER_02]: And here's the first one before I get to my mini one. [SPEAKER_02]: I try to tell y'all, if expectations can play with your emotions, I mean, look at Joe Buck and Troy equipment right now, ESPN site Troy equipment in 2022 and Troy to his credit got ESPN design his little buddy Joe Buck so they could keep the team together.

1:05:41 [SPEAKER_02]: Fast forward to 2026. [SPEAKER_02]: Now, Joe Buck resigns with the SPN and Troy's expectation was that his little buddy Joe would go to bed for him to keep the team together like he did for Joe four years earlier. [SPEAKER_02]: But Joe left Troy behind in the dust through one of the bus and Troy is going to be out of a job soon and is sad. [SPEAKER_02]: Troy was left down by expectations he had for his friend, Joe Buck. [SPEAKER_02]: and look at a lot of great sports broadcasting partnerships. [SPEAKER_02]: They do break up and it's almost always because of expectations one has of the other. [SPEAKER_02]: You got Mike and Mike.

1:06:21 [SPEAKER_02]: Mike Greenberg took off and he got his own show and left the other Mike. [SPEAKER_02]: in the cold. [SPEAKER_02]: Skip Bales and Shannon Sharpen, a very public divorce. [SPEAKER_02]: Steven A Smith and Max Kellerman as well, and the most iconic legendary one of them all, Mike in the Mad Dog, and if you've ever heard those stories, I could sit here for an hour and tell you those, the iconic breakups. [SPEAKER_02]: How Monday morning on this podcast, I thought the great duo of Seth and O'Jey were going to split up over a heated debate about Ali Gordon. [SPEAKER_02]: Never know. [SPEAKER_02]: My point is expectations can play with your emotions, and another form of expectations is what Miami dolphins fans had this year heading into this season, heading into this season.

1:07:02 [SPEAKER_02]: I saw fans, I saw social media, and podcasts talking to them on the street because I'm a man of the people. [SPEAKER_02]: They preached how the Miami dolphins would stink this year, and they're okay with it, because they got rid of Greer and McDaniel. [SPEAKER_02]: and two other all gods. [SPEAKER_02]: So I'm okay. [SPEAKER_02]: We can lose it one year. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what expectations were as low as a rattlesnakes belly button. [SPEAKER_02]: Fans made their peace that it was going to be a long year. [SPEAKER_02]: It was going to be a crummy season and they were okay. [SPEAKER_02]: But a funny thing happened once they got to week one. [SPEAKER_02]: The offense fans forgot everything they said for the previous five months. [SPEAKER_02]: And somehow expected this team to win every week in compete and look like a regular normal NFL team.

1:07:43 [SPEAKER_02]: And now they get big mad each week when the team loses. [SPEAKER_02]: Folks from one to offense fan to another. [SPEAKER_02]: I say this would love. [SPEAKER_02]: Get your head out of your families. [SPEAKER_02]: This was a one to three one team heading into the season. [SPEAKER_02]: And as we sit today on November 4th, guess what, we're still a one to three one team this year. [SPEAKER_02]: I know, beating the jets, got everyone excited for a week. [SPEAKER_02]: But again, [SPEAKER_02]: It was the Jets. [SPEAKER_02]: And it was also a game which Miami almost let's slip away in a second half if we're being totally honest. [SPEAKER_02]: And then a last week's game was frustrating watching Miami blow a 10 point lead to the Patriots after half time. [SPEAKER_02]: But this is who this Dolphins team is into on each 26. [SPEAKER_02]: They may hang around for a half.

1:08:25 [SPEAKER_02]: They may keep things interesting for a bit. [SPEAKER_02]: But ultimately, they will show their true colors in the team with the most talent on the field is gonna come out victorious. [SPEAKER_02]: They're gonna put together a quality consecutive four quarters of football in the same game. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's not their fault, it's a young team, it's a young head coach. [SPEAKER_02]: it's okay. [SPEAKER_02]: So as we are about halfway through this season, I want to remind fans of the dolphins. [SPEAKER_02]: Don't get mad each Sunday and keep your expectations and check. [SPEAKER_02]: And if anything right now, if you're my immediate offense fan, as we sit on November 4th, you should be very, very happy.

1:09:05 [SPEAKER_02]: Yes, happy. [SPEAKER_02]: Why? [SPEAKER_02]: Because this Miami Dolphins team, [SPEAKER_02]: It they have arguably the best draft that any might be an offense team had since I would say in my opinion 1992 when they took Troy Vincent and Marco Coleman in round one checked that maybe 93 because they just take a water CEO for Penn State and I have to say that because now we have average okay you get the point and if there's a team right now [SPEAKER_02]: has a young foundation of build on Proctor Rodriguez, Brooks, HN, Chris Johnson, Brewer, Paul. [SPEAKER_02]: They're going to have $100 million in the off-season spend if they want to spend, they can save some spend some, however they want to spend, or however much they want to spend.

1:09:47 [SPEAKER_02]: Sure, the quarterback situation is up in the air, but they got time to figure it out. [SPEAKER_02]: So don't let unrealistic expectations now. [SPEAKER_02]: make you miserable these lost this year because he did have realistic expectations back in the spring because most of you shouted told me tweet it about it on Facebook about it because spoiler alert they're going to lose a lot more games between that one week 18 [SPEAKER_02]: closing I try to tell y'all think about your expectations from back in the spring think about how there have been moments of the season where it's been very it's been a lot of fun watching these young players grow right before our eyes and exceed realistic expectations and think about how this has been a whole [SPEAKER_02]: And let's also pray for Troy and Joe that they can stay together for the sake of the kids.

1:10:42 [SPEAKER_02]: And oh, that's my, I tried to tell y'all now. [SPEAKER_02]: Here's here's my mini a little bonus round this one. [SPEAKER_04]: This is like the Patreon version of I tried to tell you. [SPEAKER_02]: Now juice mentioned to 72 dolphins and all that stuff and it got me thinking I should have done this in a longer version, but I trust me, I got enough to do this off top I had because I got a message for Kyle Brant of NFL Network, ESPN where I'm looking when I shut up. [SPEAKER_02]: In 2022, this guy on his little morning show, which nobody watches by the way, big failure, said that, you know, 72 dolphins, they're like the bad guy, pro wrestlers, because they act like what you're jerks, they have to last unbeaten team loses, and, you know, they tarnish their legacy, and this is the other, these guy old man, they're horrible people.

1:11:38 [SPEAKER_02]: Hey, Kyle, go to hell. [SPEAKER_02]: Let those old men enjoy one moment a year for their accomplishment. [SPEAKER_02]: Maybe if you accomplish something that could be celebrated for 50 plus years, you would understand you around the real world days of our lives and a scriptwriter for Jim Rome. [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, you look like the guy should run the Ferris wheel to county fair. [SPEAKER_02]: Go to how and stay there. [SPEAKER_02]: You're a hack and don't make me put Larry Zaka on your ass and keep my teams mouth name out of your mouth. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: Wow. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: You heard it here. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry. [SPEAKER_02]: I'm seriously. [SPEAKER_02]: You know, I've gotten here. [SPEAKER_02]: Here's a bell on me. [SPEAKER_02]: Here's a couple of bell.

1:12:19 [SPEAKER_02]: Fuck him, fuck him, fuck him. [SPEAKER_02]: This guy, people get so worked up about this 72 team, pop and champagne. [SPEAKER_02]: First off, like the real story, like it happened like one to like five of the players. [SPEAKER_02]: And then the legend became the truth. [SPEAKER_02]: And it's like, oh, these guys are flying in from all their cities, the pop champagne, the next Monday. [SPEAKER_02]: Well, that's not happening. [SPEAKER_01]: That's not happening. [SPEAKER_04]: It never happened. [SPEAKER_04]: If you don't want to do anything, you're going to feed it. [SPEAKER_01]: Right exactly someone shut them up going to feed it don't make me And the only vocal one right now is it's on and so okay, he's not Oh, he's got a cigar, you know me a little some some type of brown liquor Which I love man just chilling man [SPEAKER_02]: And let us act as we don't kick Kyle Brandt's ass today, trust me.

1:13:00 [SPEAKER_01]: You see how big that dude's fucking hand is. [SPEAKER_01]: He's so dope. [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely ridiculous. [SPEAKER_01]: He's got some monster hand. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought I had big hands, man. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought that big ditch is big Seth. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: That's no joke, man. [SPEAKER_04]: That dude's hand bro. [SPEAKER_04]: Why don't you guys? [SPEAKER_04]: There's no high old thing. [SPEAKER_04]: He should hit him with that, the 72 ring and leave like an Ace Ventura. [SPEAKER_04]: Oh man. [SPEAKER_04]: Or or. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, they should pay off. [SPEAKER_01]: You see, that's it with Rick James, the unity ring. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you, you haven't seen it. [SPEAKER_01]: Unity. [SPEAKER_01]: him a boy Charlie Murphy in the head, but yeah, you got to see that will be set. [SPEAKER_01]: What are those two leaving a mark like that for sure? [SPEAKER_02]: So you know, he said that in 2022, brand someone put up the clip this week.

1:13:42 [SPEAKER_02]: And I got just as man watching this week as I did back in 2020 was like, So that's the way that's an old. [SPEAKER_04]: That's old news that four years ago. [SPEAKER_02]: He's still harpside and that's why that fired up. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's like his whole thing. [SPEAKER_02]: It's like, you know, what do I love it? [SPEAKER_02]: Screw him. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what we got to live on. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what the crazy part about all that is they thought we were going to go Owen 17 right out of me and the fact that we're not Owen 17 but first you need to go 17 and Owen 17 choose my friends fuck off or yeah fucking dog man. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't do it [SPEAKER_02]: If that's the worst thing, then a bunch of old men do these days. [SPEAKER_02]: Celebrates are like seriously.

1:14:23 [SPEAKER_01]: I wish it was the worst. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and Mike, and here's the thing about it too, man. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm with you on that, man. [SPEAKER_01]: We're losing these guys left and right. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm many left. [SPEAKER_01]: They've got something that honestly they cling onto and hold on to. [SPEAKER_01]: They hold dear to their lives, man. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Let them enjoy it, man. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Why even? [SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: Bro, it's like, some people have the wrong stuff to talk about. [SPEAKER_01]: Probably when they got shit else to talk about, you know what I mean? [SPEAKER_01]: And these guys, man, they've got something that as we all see, what week is it now week nine, your shit is never going to happen again.

1:15:03 [SPEAKER_01]: First of all, nobody can go 17 and old again because of the way too many games now. [SPEAKER_01]: It's got to be what, 20, 21 and old. [SPEAKER_01]: And he keep adding games too. [SPEAKER_02]: Right, he's got to be 20 and 20, right? [SPEAKER_01]: I think 20 and old. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, so they whatever they did is never going to be accomplished again, and to it's not going to happen because the parody is amazing right now, right? [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, look at college football first and foremost, but then the pro game. [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's not taking loss. [SPEAKER_01]: It is any given Sunday. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, you see teams lose at it. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, there's you thought we're going to lose. [SPEAKER_01]: Look at all these suicide pools and see what happened to all those things. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_04]: But there's a third reason, Juice, because you don't have Shula. [SPEAKER_04]: and Zonka and Warfield and greasy and by the kind of, your squad's just not that good and kick.

1:15:49 [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, your squad's not good enough to go to go undefeated. [SPEAKER_04]: So that's what it is. [SPEAKER_01]: Great stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: Savvy was 1.3, 1.1 wins and those days though. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and they had to go on the road for the AMZ championship. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, on Erdogan. [SPEAKER_01]: We don't know about that. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because it was exactly right. [SPEAKER_02]: Each year they would switch from one division to the next division. [SPEAKER_02]: Crazy. [SPEAKER_04]: Crazy stuff. [SPEAKER_04]: Alternate. [SPEAKER_04]: And again, if you don't like it, go undefeated. [SPEAKER_04]: That's that's. [SPEAKER_04]: the way I love it. [SPEAKER_04]: So great stuff real quick, Jews. [SPEAKER_04]: I wanted to announce this. [SPEAKER_04]: We've been running this contest on our Patreon account. [SPEAKER_04]: For those of you who don't know, we recently launched our Patreon account, fish tank the deep end. [SPEAKER_04]: It's patreon dot com slash the fish tank 81.
